I want to be involved. How do I volunteer?
 
Smart Coast encourages cooperation, coordination, and communication among communities in the Mobile and Baldwin County coastal region.
To volunteer, please call 251-928-2309 or email info@smartcoast.org.
Many opportunities exist to volunteer. If you are interested in joining our volunteer corps, please complete the application below and send it to us. We will contact you soon.
 
Study Opportunities
 
Study opportunities are available in Mobile and Baldwin Counties to research issues that affect the quality of life in your community and in our coastal region. If you are interested in joining us, please select the issue you would like to research.

Accessory Dwelling Units
Town Planning
Walkable Communities
Open Space / Farm Preservation
 
Other Volunteer Opportunities
 
Communications:
Assist with quarterly newsletter
Assist with mailings
Design and print brochures
Assist with writing letters to the editor
 
Smart Coast History:
Maintain the Smart Coast scrapbook
Take photos for publications and events
 
Speakers Bureau:
Maintain list of organizations which require regular speakers and list of available Smart Coast speakers/topics. Arrange approximately 1 speaking engagement per month.
 
Data Coordinator:
Maintain contact information in database
Send emails to list serve
Maintain community calendar
 
Office Volunteer:
Organize filing system / resource material
Send out correspondence; i.e., Information to local media, government officials, thank you notes, etc.
Create documents/forms
 
Web Watcher:
Review assigned websites bi-weekly and notify coordinator about important postings
Collect important web information from Web Watchers and communicate information to Smart Coast staff. Ensure Web Watchers are reviewing assigned sites.
